A Prayer for the Christian Lawyer on Holy Ground

Peacemaker Prayer

May 2026

Abba, thank You that in Christ I am Your child. Your joy is my strength. When I grow weary in the battle and uncertain how to walk, teach me to walk by faith and not by sight. You call me to stand firm, contend for the faith, be a peacemaker, and wait on You. Give me discernment to know when to fight, when to rest, when to act, and when to be still before You.

Jehovah, I surrender and lay down before You my hopes, expectations, ambitions, fears, and desires. The battle is not mine but Yours. Forgive me for striving in my own strength, for taking matters into my own hands, and for forgetting that victory comes only through You. Teach me to fight not as the world fights, but in the Spirit—with prayer, faith, truth, and unwavering trust in Your promises.

Yahweh, take captive every thought and imagination that exalts itself against the knowledge of Christ. Break the works of the Enemy through the life of Jesus made manifest in me. Clothe me with the full armor of God. Hide Your Word in my heart. Let me stand firm in truth, wield the sword of the Spirit with wisdom, and walk in the peace that surpasses understanding. Guard my heart from fear, frustration, bitterness, and despair. You are my rock, my fortress, and my strong tower—Turris fortis mihi Deus.

Comforter, teach me to wait with alive and active faith—not with passivity, but with confident expectation. You are who You say that You are. Your Word is true. Your timing is perfect. Your plans are good. I reject impatience, fear, and the urge to control outcomes. I rest in Your sovereignty, trusting that as I wait, You are at work and You are faithful.

Mighty God, and when the time comes to act, let me move forward with boldness, not in my own strength, but by Your Holy Spirit. Let my prayers be fervent, my faith steady, and my hope steadfast. Keep me from growing weary in doing good. In due season, let me reap without losing heart.

Jesus, make me a peacemaker, not merely a peacekeeper. Teach me to enter conflict as one standing on holy ground. Let me bring Your kingdom reality—Your shalom (nothing missing, nothing broken)—into broken places. Use me to tell the truth in love, do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with You. Let me push back darkness with the light of Christ. Keep my hands open in surrender, not clenched in striving, knowing that all I need is found in You.

Heavenly Father, manifest Your presence in my life today. Strengthen me in my inner man to stand, to trust, and to contend—not with earthly weapons, but with the weapons of the Spirit. Let my family and all the family of God connected to me in any way walk in victory—not because of our effort, but because of the finished work of Your Son: His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. I pray all of this in the Spirit, and in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
